In my opinion yes any one can do it. Anyway it is still very easy. It is under the hood on the right side or passenger side at the rear of the engine compartment. Once you buy it you know what it looks like. All you do is unplug the wire and tube from it and take out the 6 or so screws and remove it if needed remove the wheel from the old on put on the new and put it back. That's it nothing major at all. Here are instructions and the lower location in the diagrams below. Check out the images (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

The blower motor can be removed from under the hood on the passangers side firewall. Mark the motor and the firewall so the new one can be installed correctly. Disconnect the cooling tube small rubber tube that hangs down. Carefully disconnect the two wire connector. Sometimes they get a little stuburn or get stuck together. Use a little wd 40 and spray the 6 screws that are around the motor assembly. Just makes it easier to get out so they don't strip. Make sure all other wires are free and out of the way. Slowely wiggle the heater motor shroud back and forth. Most times you probable need a small screwdriver to help to start to loosen it up there is sealer that helps hold it in place . Once you get it a little loose keep moving it to get the sealer loose enough to slip the motor and housing out. Move it straight out as the fan is connected to it. Once removed the fan itself can be removed removing the nut and moving the fan off. You have to remove the fan in order to get the motor off the motor shroud be careful the fan is made of plastic. Install in reverse. Make sure the drain plug and the wire connections are positioned like the motor that came out. A thing to watch is that the motor is on the motro shroud just like the old one came off.

How do you replace a blower motor on a 99 blazer?

REMOVAL:
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
If equipped, remove the Vehicle Control Module (VCM) from the engine compartment.
Remove the coolant recovery reservoir.
Disconnect the blower motor cooling tube.
Unplug the electrical connector(s) from the blower motor, as necessary.
Remove the blower motor-to-case screws (the lower screw is on the bottom front of the cover).
Disconnect the harness from the blower motor.
Use a razor or utility knife to cut through the cover on the cut line as neatly as possible because the access cover has to be reinstalled.
Starting with upper half of the cover, tear the remaining part of the access cover from the remaining portion. Then remove the lower half of the cover in the same manner.
Remove the blower motor assembly.

INSTALLATION:
Install the blower motor assembly.
Connect the two halves of the access cover together using the three flange clips.
Using black duct tape, place a piece of the tape along the bottom lower edge of the lower half of the lower cover only. The tape has to be the full width of the cover.
Install the access cover onto the case.
Install the screw and align the cut areas.
Seal the cut areas using black weaterstrip adhesive. Do not use RTV to seal the assembly. The weatherstrip adhesive bead should be as straight as possible to ensure a neat and professional finish to the cover. Allow the adhesive to set at least 15 minutes until it skins over.
Attach the electrical connections.
Attach the cooling tube and install the coolant recovery reservoir.
If removed, install the VCM.
Connect the negative battery cable and refill the coolant reservoir to the proper level.

It's pretty straight forward. The blower is under the dashboard on the passenger's side. Unplug the wires from the back of the motor and disconnect the screws holding it to the case. Pry down lightly on the motor with a screwdriver to free the motor.

Pull the clip holding the squirrel case (fan) to the motor's axle and pull the wheel off of the old motor. Put the wheel on the new motor and install the clip on the axle

Slide the new motor in the case, tighten the screws and reconnect the wires.

Heater problem
1997 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic exceed miles

Under the hood-where is the blower motor located and where is the connector for this? My heater will work sometimes and when it did not I would just open the hood and close it and it would kick on. Now, that is not working--so I need to make sure there is not a short in the connector or something like that. Please and suggestion would be helpfull.

Passenger side at the firewall. Look at the ground real close, it sounds like it may be loose. Sometimes the motor will stop on a bad spot and jarring it wil make it work

I have been working on my vehicle looking for the blower motor now for a couple of days. I have gone to multiple garages and each have told me differant locations. When most of them said under the dachboard, I had tried taking apart my dashboard but I couldnt enough to get to where the blower motor was located. But I dont know exactly where it was located. It seems as though I cant even locate the sixe or the shape ofthe blower motor or fan. Would u happen to be able to tell me the exact location an how to get to the blower motor?

The blower motor is located on right rear of engine compartment. Here are the removal and installation procedures.

BLOWER MOTOR & FAN

Removal & Installation
1 . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect blower motor electrical connections. Remove Vehicle Control Module (VCM), if necessary. Remove coolant recovery reservoir and blower motor cooling tube. Remove blower motor mounting screws.

2 . Cut access cover along dotted lines. See Fig. 2 . Remove upper half of access cover, tearing remaining portion of access cover. Remove blower motor. Remove nut attaching blower fan to blower motor shaft, and remove fan.

3 .To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply a bead of Black weatherstrip adhesive to cut and tear lines for access cover.

Assembly

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

6. Remove the blower motor-to-case screws, then carefully withdraw the blower motor from the case.

To install:

7. Install the blower motor to the case and secure using the retaining screws.
8. Engage the electrical connector(s) to the motor, as necessary.
9. If moved on early model vehicles, reposition and secure the A/C vacuum tank.
10. Connect the blower motor cooling tube.
11. Install the coolant recovery reservoir, then if equipped, install the VCM.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.

Cut casing for access as per manufacturers recommendation? With a/c - how long/how complicated any tips in changing that blower motor?

And...

Before buying a replacement motor...

The more I knock on the casing, the better the blower runs! Is there another part in that casing that may be defective or is it really, most likely, the motor?

Remove the coolant recovery tank and possible Vehicle Control Modual then cooling hose to motor. Remove screws take out motor. Take nut off fan instal on new motor replace. Piece O cake.
