To all the other DMs, GMs, Story Tellers and Game Designers on my feed.Besides combat, what other ways to engage your players with NPCs to create conflict? Especially between groups that don't share any animosity between one another?

I didn't use a lot of safety tools until about 2ish years ago. But they have gone SO far in helping me become a better Dungeon Master for my tables.Stars, Wishes and Wards is by far the one I think I get the most use out of.

I was very proud of the design I made and that we've been using for over a year, but Mia really brought something else to it. There is such a MAJOR difference in product, reception and perception of something that has a real artists touch to it.

It's hard finding the balance when you work for yourself. You still need to keep a work\life balance for your mental health. But it's an easy trap to fall into to think if you work just a few more hours a day you'll get somewhere faster.Be kind to yourself! Give yourself some free time to relax. Learning to do that is my small win.

I'm curious how people think when they have ideas they want to present to a group? I think a lot of us are probably anxious or scared, afraid of rejection, or afraid of what they might say if they don't like the idea. How many ideas have you kept to yourself because it wasn't perfect? I think of ideas like puzzles pieces and I know I don't have all of them. Someone else might be holding onto the perfect piece but they'd never know it unless I showed them mine.#Inspiration #Creativity #TTRPG

Oops! Meant to repost this in general and somehow did it to a private group. Weird. But, this motto changed the way I pursue my own goals. I'll take a 1% progress increase every day over waiting for a random, unpredictable surge of motivation and inspiration that gets me 10% or more.If you do 1% every day, it adds up quicker and you can still make great strides on the days you have the time and energy.

I've never had much interest in trying to figure out Pinterest myself, but for discoverability it seems like a very good tool.

It is important for players to be able to see thier experiences reflected in games they are part of. not everyone may want to, as TTRPGs are sometimes used as an escape from our real experiences and lives. As GMs its your job to understand what your players want and why. If someone asks to explore something in game, don't just reject it and hand wave it away with magic."But in my world..." It's thier world as well. Embrace your players creativity.Listen. Learn. Grow.#TransVisibilityDay #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TTRPG

Since losing my job in November of 2022, I've created over 500 items. There maybe some in there that are similar, but overall, finding a balance with these aspects in mind has kept it fun and interesting for over a year. Now that I'm focusing on this full-time, I'm very excited to see where we'll be in another year.#Creativity #GameDesign #TTRPGs
